Gee but it's great to be back home

Dec 21, 2005 23:52

After what has been arguably the two and a half longest weeks of my life, I'm home. Details on the past weeks and months will follow in due time, but not tonight. Not having gotten to bed before 4 AM during that timespan has left me just a little tired and diffuse. I have but two thoughts to share for this evening ( Read more... )

It's true that we don't have the best night sky, but it's still not too bad. I really like the night sky a lot too; maybe that'll be another topic for another entry? Thanks very much for the thoughts, Casey; love you too.

The smart thing for me to do would probably be to think first and then comment but, well. . .

First of all, I'm glad that you're finally home. I hope that you will get some rest while you're there-- no seeing you online at 4 am for a while, ok? Unless you've slept all day, or something. Heh

And again, that skyline picture really is beautiful. You said it first, but there really is something about being so close to home, seeing home--and to a lesser extent, any city--in that way. . . with ALL of it in front of you, right before you really enter it and can see only individual buildings that's just. . .I'm nowhere near articulate enough to describe that but it's moving and it's good.

Happy birthday, Kenny. Yes, you're twenty now. . .and also only a few minutes older than you were when you posted this at nineteen. Enjoy the day, and enjoy your break!

Thank you, Yael!

Well, now everything is actually done; let's see if I can actually rest a bit (I say as I type at 2:03 AM).

Thanks; I really do like my skyline a lot; it's still no Manhattan, but it's a good one to come home to.

Enjoy your break too!

Sleep deprivation tends to do that to a body. Perhaps being at home will give you some time to relax, regroup and get back in tune with natural cycles. And in regards to a certain annual cycle: Happy Birthday! I hope you have an enjoyable break at home. -Jenny

Thank you! Yup, I'm definitely taking advantage of this to catch up on sleep (never mind that it's 1:45 AM right now). it'll be nice next semester too, when only three days a week will I have 9 AM classes. Hope you're having a good break too!
