Just make sure that bloke from The Fast Show (and Industrial Revelations, of course) isn't getting your fee. Nor that Hwelsh snookerist, either. Maybe you're the victim of your own idiosyncratic hypocoristic! All (I say "all"!) the other Malcolms I know are (historical Scottish kings, or more pertinently) "Mal" (Irish) or "Malkie" (the non-royal Scots).
Storytelling podcast sounds most intriguing! I must admit that I briefly got very excited about podcasts, having only recently acquired a device I could sensibly download them onto directly... then petered out entirely, and invariably just listen to music when "on the go". But I'm sure it's not beyond you to revive the entire medium for me!
Oh no, the fees have all arrived safe and well, I have no worries on that score, and after a bit of a nudge, Audible have now corrected the name credit, which is nice of them. It seems that on their internal systems, it had all been entered correctly, but there is some kind of autocorrect function that works (or fails to work) when things are posted to the website. This may therefore be a running battle, but for now I am satisfied

Joking on both those first two items... just as well it wasn't the "fee" part that I was fatuously right about! Didn't factor the relatively uncommonness of the name South of the Border making it such a spelling landmine. (All of those errors are pretty logical if one's reaction is "I have no idea what that person just said, but here's a decent stab at what we speakers of this borderline creole call "phonetic" spelling.)
That's a little surreal about the Vicks ad. Just how long did that continue until you saw the ad -- or perhaps more likely, finally snapped, grabbed one such interlocutor by the lapels, and demand of them "why?!?"
I'd think that it would likely be a good idea to go easy on the guests thing initially, lest the "brand" be diluted too much before it's sufficiently established. Of course, the corollary would be that if you get a guest with sufficiently large pull to get noticeable amounts of extra DLs... You have Stephen Fry and Jim Dale's numbers, right?
Podcast sounds like a great thing to try, at least. Lot of work to keep up (I'm guessing) but a nice way to keep your voice out there in people's ears!
Thanks. I think that if I aim for 1 per month, and maybe get a couple "in the bank" before I start publicising them, it should be manageable (I currently have no ambitions to podcast live). If it works out, then yes, I think it's a good way to keep myself and my voice in people's consciousness. If not... well, "nothing ventured..." as they say.
Indeed! Bene Gesserit Voice Ear Worm, that's a thing, isn't it? (Or if it's not, after an infinite number of Dune sequels, I think it's certain to be eventually.)
