Dunno what the hell this holiday is all about, but man! If Deidara were here, he would've got a kick out of it.

I guess I might go back and borrow some "fireworks" from him.

To give you an abridged history - On the second of July, 1776, Thomas Jefferson and John Adams, two of the Founding Fathers of The United States of America, signed a document called the Declaration of Independance. It was a declaration stating America's independance from the Kingdom of Great Britain.

The Holiday is celebrated on the fourth because that's the date actually ON the Declaration of Independance because that's the day Congress (One branch of our Government.) actually finalised and approved it.

Every year, people in my country celebrate the day with fireworks, barbecues, parades, and many people will hang a Flag outside their homes. It's sort of considered our nations Birthday.

Well, it's the kind of Holiday just about anyone can enjoy for one reason or another. Glad to hear you'll be joining us.

Fireworks are a lot of fun, so long as they're treated with respect and everyone maintains a safe distance from them once they're lit!

Glad to know I can count you in, Amitie.

Marine Day sure sounds like an interesting holiday, Tsuchiya. Especially for a guy like me - I lived in the center of a very large country just about all my life and never once saw the ocean until I was in my late teens.

What kinds of things do you like to do on Marine Day?

Just respect the ocean or go to the beach.

[Really. That's just what Marine day is.]

Well, unfortunately there aren't any oceans here that I know of. Perhaps we could ask the Headmaster to organize a trip to somewhere that has an ocean for us to visit and respect?

When I celebrated The Fourth, we would just watch the fireworks at night. So hearing that we might have fireworks is very exciting!

I think it should be a blast - figurative and literal!

I know some states don't allow fireworks for private use in my own home dimension also. I can see the sense in it on one hand being not everyone acts responsibly with them. However, I disagree with it on a fundamental level being the entire fourth of July celebration is centered around our freedoms.

Which state are you from, Sam?

Re: Ffft, they don't actually say where Sam lives... mr_mildmannered July 4 2010, 07:28:14 UTC
*Oh Sam you are an enigma wrapped in a mystery wrapped in a dog wrapped in a suit*

Right. Well, we just dealt with the City being partially destroyed. Let's see if we can avoid any further damages and enjoy the fireworks responsibly.
