The Coral are rather good, aren't they? I listen to them and fantasise that they have band rehearsals in a rainy alleyway with a drum made from a dustbin and guitars made from boxes and twine.

No - I'm afraid not. 'Bimbling' is a dialect word similar to wandering, or tootling.
