I think I’ve discovered a new occupation that would truly suit me - a TV show hitman. As not to be confused with playing a hitman on TV, a TV show hitman would actually bring about the untimely demise of TV shows. Sounds strange? I am with you on this. I decided that I would boycott TV if Freaks and Geeks was cancelled and I did for a long time. But I got back into network shows when I stopped having cable.

That totally sucks about Wonderfalls. I only saw two of the episodes but I had a lot of hope.

I watch a few "guilty pleasure" shows like Smallville, The O.C., The Practice (anything with Spader is a must), and E.R. Sometimes they are better than others but they are not Freaks and Geeks and they are not Mystery Science Theater 3000.

I like Queer Eye for the Straight Guy a LOT, but that's sort of a reality show (albeit a good one) and you're looking for something meatier.

I haven't given a lot of shows a chance (i.e. The O.C. which I feel like I'm totally out of the loop for not watching) so I will not criticize them. I criticize the "reality" show fad because the only reason that networks jam them down our throats is because they are easy and cheap to make. People are fooled by the whole giving away half a million to a million dollar prizes at the end of a reality season because really that's small potatoes to the studios after they save a fortune with the reality format and then make a fortune from strong viewership and guaranteed timeslots. Every time ten new reality shows premier and one dramedy/genre show is canceled it's a kick in the pants to creative people everywhere who make a living from writing, directing, acting, set building, art directing, you name it. Lets hope reality shows (especially the glamorized game shows) is just a fad.
