Yeah, my dress is TOTALLY more expensive than Cal's dress :-)
Of course, my plan is that I wear the kilt every formal occasion for the entire rest of my life, and then after I'm gone it gets handed down to someone approximately my size, and they can wear it. So it does work out to be a sound investment. Just a shock to the system, is all...
I did! Should have specified. Kilt, jacket, waistcoat, sporran, etc etc etc. It was a pretty good deal all told. From Geoffrey's, who have their woolen mill on the top of the royal mile and do good work. According to my researches they sure aren't the cheapest option but they deliver on the quality.
I don't get to try it on until January! Its personally tailored jacket/waistcoat/kilt, taking a few months to make, then Gregor will drag it over here in Jan in time for the wedding... so there will be pics, but you must be patient...
In the meantime, I have all the proof I need that it did happen - my bank statement. Ouches.
Yeah my CU outfit was about $1250 or so I think. I figured I would were it, but I haven't. Evie won't let me wear the hat because it is my good hat. :D Go figure.
Also my outfit cost more than hers because she made hers, but I think hers is worth more. Especially the corset.
If ever you should come along with me to a reenactment camp and hear the cry: "Are you traditional?" don't look, avert your eyes, and pretend it didn't happen. ;-)
