Anyone who comes to our door will be treated and not tricked. I am ADAMANT about this, Crowley. I do so love the holidays, even if this one is, ah, rather unusual. All Hallow's Eve seems to have utterly eclipsed All Saints' Day; I suppose it would have been advantageous to put the candy-eating and costumes and parades on the day commemorating ( Read more... )

So if we celebrated All Saint's Day like we do Halloween, would that mean we'd have to dress up like our favourite Saint for a day? I don't think that would be quite as cool to most kids.

Well, you're probably right, although there would still be the appeal of the candy and parades and such, wouldn't there? Besides; plenty of people wear costumes that aren't unpleasant, on Halloween, as it is.

Actually dressing up as saints... oh, my... Probably wouldn't be the best idea, now that I think on it.

Sure, but it's still mostly either for kids, dressing up scary, or dressing up sluttily.

I can't think of any off the top of my head other than St Patrick, and he's already got his own holiday. If you can call it that.

That is true. I'm not against the frightening costumes, though; as long as they're enjoying themselves, and no one gets hurt.

Well, saints get to be saints by exemplifying the triumph of the better part of human nature. Unfortunately, the method of triumph over the darker part of human nature is generally-- not pleasant.

Well, it certainly seems to please the recipients most! There's no harm, as long as you don't overindulge in it.

You can if it makes you sick, my dear. I do hope no one overindulges to that extent.

I would not be displeased to receive an apple, good sir, though sweets are more the tradition. And shall there not be mass on the morrow, for the martyrs?

Well, it's good to know healthy treats wouldn't be utterly a waste, but I've really no qualms about the candy. And I'm sure there shall; though of course, it's always something of a quieter celebration than All Hallow's. Regrettably, many young people don't even know the source of the holiday, I suspect.

Then you'd better get the door because I will take one of the choices offered and it won't be the one you want.

[ooc: Crowley will also be "dressed as an angel." In this case by simply letting his wings show for a change. He'll spend a lot of the day grooming his feathers.]

Somehow I'm not surprised. I'll take care of it.

Which reminds me-- as I was thinking about it-- artificial sweetener, is it one of yours?

Not one of mine. Sometimes they do awful things all on their own.
