The Wachowski bros certainly put a lot of effort into making Speed Racer... the movie overall looked and felt like a cross between anime, a kaleidoscope, that Flintstones movie, a video game and the Dukes of Hazard

To be fair, its hard to look at any other movie after watching Ironman. because there is just no comparison. it was a level of quality that is rare in movies today.

I kinda figured speed racer would suck. cause i had this feeling it would be like trying to translate Sailormoon or Dragonball Z to live action movies..... It just wouldn't work. too many things that only work in cartoon format.

although.... if you took two wacky concepts and MERGED them into one movie it might be worth watching..... Im thinking Speed Racer 2. Speed racer VS. The 300 Spartans.

I know I'm probably entirely alone in this, but I actually liked the plot of Speed Racer. It's long and rambling but also well thought out, and it doesn't really get started until later. Then again, I loved the beginning, so I'm not sure staying for the rest would have done anything but give you a migraine.
