I'd, mostly, just chill about criticizing the choices of Clinton supporters right now. There's a bevy of factors at work here--first of which being that many are in shock and, essentially, mourning, and illogical things are often said under these circumstances. A lot of the people saying they'll vote for McCain weren't particularly liberal in the first place--many saw her as the more centrist of the two dem. candidates (not really true, but understandable with how her campaign started to spin stuff towards the end), and it would take a lot of falsifying his stances on platform positions (unsavory and unlikely; potentially alienating to his current core of supporters) for Obama to attract those voters. As for the rest, a more productive discussion, conducted by his supporters, his campaign (which has said that he won't work to attract Clinton voters, anyway--purty foolish!), and by Obama himself would be to listen to the concerns of people who have said he wouldn't vote for him, and to address them respectfully. Like it or not, he

I really understand disappointment, and I really don't mean to be making a criticism of all clinton supporters. rather i'm just pointing to a specific fringe of her most die hard supporters who seem to make the case that if it weren't for Obama's misogyny, Clinton would be the nominee. That I don't understand. I also don't understand how someone who is concerned about equal rights for women and making for a less sexist society could be okay with the idea of a john mccain presidency.
honestly, i think that the obama campaign has been doing everything it can to extend the olive branch, really ever since indiana there hasn't been much negative about the clinton campaign from Obama, and it probably cost him south dakota. but you're right, women's issues voters who were clinton supporters are very much a needed constituency. but honestly, i don't think people like the poster i linked to really represent that constituency.
White liberal feminism has a lot of holes and a lot of critics. It still involves a lot of privilege, which many of these women do not recognize. The discussion of whether gender trumps race or vice versa is not very useful. I think it is horrifying that the two candidates have been pitted against one another in this manner in the minds of many, and I do wonder how much race has to do with encouraging the accusations of Obama as misogynist.
I doubt the "don't vote for Obama because our female didn't win" campaign touches that many voters that take it seriously. Or, at least, I hope it doesn't...
if hillary won the nom or the presidency feminists would get to deal with more men claiming sexism doesn't exist anymore
anyway she's terrible and pretty much always has been, and we didn't "affirmative action" al sharpton into the candidacy because you can usually do better than "well he's not a white male" and just patiently wait for an actual GOOD female candidate
just to be clear, I didn't intend to paint the entire clinton constituency with the same brush, rather to point out an element that i find completely incomprehensible.
