It was a short recital that featured MENC members on their secondary instruments. Your preschooler at band experience reminds me of when we'd do instrument testing for 4th graders. I bet some of those preschoolers did better than the kids we got! Hehe.

I keep forgetting that you're going to Uganda... it's so scary and yet so awesome at the same time!
And how is observing going? Are the middle schoolers as obnoxious as you thought they'd be?

My middle schoolers are actually pretty good. The 8th grade is mostly boys and they're not bad and the 6th graders are well-behaved and eager to learn. The 7th graders are the worst. They talk non-stop and are really awful players. They're last band director pretty much stopped teaching them when he knew he was taking another job.
