Occupations

Seeing as I spent the last two weeks of work updating all the computers in the lab with various programs and getting the lab running perfectly, I think I am going to make a post during this shift, if for no other reason than boredom (and the fact that there is really no work for me to do.

This term is far too busy.Monday, Wednesday, Friday ( Read more... )

Hamburger Technician. That's a clever name, but I still picked pirate. The high unemployment rate is part of the reason I'm still at the movie theater.

Piracy for the win.

Wow... you seem to be pretty busy... o.O

I'm going back to the preparatory course... so it'll be a bit crazy, but I already learnt a lot from last year... I have no idea how things will be this year for me to be honest XD
And I'm not really excited with it, but that's what I decided, so I need to be more confident about myself XD /random talk about myself

Back to the subject...
I voted for Mafia Godfather, because:
1- I've been seeing and reading a lot of things about mafia, lol. I need to watch some movies a friend recommended XD
2- Because you'll possibly use a cool suit. And cool suits are cool XD
3- Because I'm your MAL granddaughter, which means I'll be part of your group XD

But a wandering samurai is a good option too XD

(or you can come to Brazil XD Things are not that bad here... yet. o.O)

Yeah, it's busy... that's one of the big reasons I haven't been so active on MAL lately ( ... )

Eh, don't worry about it. It sounds like you're not worrying, though, which is good. Good luck with medicine! It's something I don't think I could ever do (I'm horrible with chemistry) but it's certainly a good area to have a job in.
And it's not bad to talk about yourself. :p

We- we really should have a Mafia family, shouldn't we? Only on MAL, it'd be Yakuza. Shall we take it up with atlantiza?

I wondered about Kenshin too after reading it. It's too cool.

Well, Portuguese is a more difficult language, which makes it more awesome. That's one of the things I enjoy about English... that if you look hard enough, there are so many bizarre rules and intricacies that nobody even knows about anymore. (I try to follow some of these, and it gives me a strange accent... people keep thinking British, though I sound nothing like that >_>)

Alchemy (by the classical definition, not the anime definition) seems like a smart choice -- once you master the "lead to gold" thing, you won't need to work. ;D

Indeed! Basically, all I need is to create the Philosopher's Stone (as clearly instructed here in 15 easy steps) and start making the celestial gold. :D
(and while I'm at it, I can eat it and live forever! =O)

Agreed! But the anime definition is also cool with me. :P

I somehow get the feeling that I wouldn't meet with much success in that area. x__x

All hail the robot overlord. Bow and be humbled by your new machine masters for you puny fleshy humans have frivolously squandered all things essential to peace and prosperity.

Seriously though, I don't think our economy will recover anytime soon if at all. Petty crimes such a theft, looting and black market transactions will be the least of our worries. Just wait until you walk into a grocery store (because you can't afford your car or the gasoline) and a loaf of bread costs two trillion dollars thanks to hyperinflation and you'll wish you were still living in a simpler time when fake crimes such a drugs, sexual immorality and gambling was everyone's biggest concern.

THANK YOU. I SHALL SPARE YOU, ORGANIC MEAT BAG.

I was actually thinking about what would happen when that situation arises... but I guess "crime" really doesn't describe it as well as "stereotypical anarchy" would.
Interestingly, though on a slight tangent, those "fake crimes" are actually largely products of Evangelicalism (the largest American Christian group). It would be very interesting to see if modern American religion could survive complete economic devastation, considering the obsession with money and capitalism that accompanies its adherents. Of course, the Great Depression may already have tested this, but I really can't say how it would change (or will change).

Yes I think you are right about the anarchy part. Assuming things keep heading on this current course, typical crime as we know it now (such as theft) will become more rampant until government starts to disintegrate at which point anarchy and tribalism would most likely emerge ( ... )
