I take your point but: What were you buying? A bag can protect a product, and help signal to other stores that you have purchased said product and not stolen it.
But does it mean I can't know bad customer service when I see it?
I understand that (for many things) it is in no way the fault of the staff.
But some things are.

Yes, it's true, customer service is not something I have...well, frankly, ever...done.
And sure, the bags have some vague use, but would handles (or extending the bag about 4 inches and just cutting a hole in it) be so painful for them?
