is anyone familar with NYC? i'm going at the end of the month and don't know where to stay/go/play.
if you have any HELPFUL INSIGHT on this, it would be greatly appreciated.

my only advice, bring an ipod, and go to washington square park and just chill the fuck out... its awesome to just sit there and people watch

I stayed at the Chelsea International Hostel, which was decent and not too expensive. Kev once stayed at Big Apple Hostel (in Times Square) which was slightly less hostely (it had a tv in the room and possibly it's own bathroom?) Also eat at Teany. Are you vegetarian? Because they have yummy food! I dream about it still. Ah Teany. Also, get a week long subway pass (it's a hell of a lot cheaper than paying each times or getting like a 10 ride card). You can go to Edgar Allan Poe's house up in the Bronx. It's pretty cool! (ok that one was nerdy).

thanks for all the insite (including the geeky stuff)! from what i've heard, Teany is a must. I'm definately going to do that. and I'd LOVE to go to Poe's house. I'm glad you mentioned the hostels, because i think that is the way we're going to go now. I'm really excited! thanks for your help.
