Just before my dad returned home, I took the opportunity of his room being empty and took some pictures of my (and his) guitars. Since my upload speed is dreadful, I'll just post the group shot. :)

I've been told the Epiphone Junior comes equipped with one of'em, but it's such a cheap guitar that it's hard to believe.

Looks like them on the lower left, though Epiphone sometimes just copies the look of pickups. But if they sound crunchy, it's probably the real deal.

you play 'em? My kid's been wanting a guitar for the longest time.. finally got one for her and a couple of 'how to' books for her but.. ugh.. she's not playin' the thing.. Told her i'd pay for lessons if she applied herself on it.

I have a picture with one of the guitars when I was smaller than it, and my dad tried to teach me how to play when I was about 10 years old, but I didn't start actually playing until high school. And even then it took me a few years to actually start taking it more seriously.

In any case, it's difficult to start playing, it's easy to get disheartened for a beginner. It would help if she had some musically inclined friends to nudge her in the right direction.

I can see that, sure. I've been the same way with my harmonica.. easily frustrated and its supposed to be the easiest instrument to learn.

Is that an Ibanez RG series on the far right? I have one just like that, but with a whammy bar.

Nope, that's a Cort X-6, and it does have a whammy bar. In fact, it's the cheapest guitar with a Floyd Rose syle whammy that I've ever come across. :)
