In my humble opinion - she is the best looking woman you have photographed of the photos that I have seen. I like that the photo is a bit out of focus - it adds character and realism. It feels as if you paused only for a moment and then passed by.

This of course is just my gut reactions to it as I do not have any professional training in photography.

The other women you posted the last couple days look too cookie cutter - they lack an originality to their faces and outer expressions.

I guess some of the good looking {sexy} girls goes with the glitz of the Grand Prix. Everything is spectacular , high rollers etc etc... They reflect what I was photographing at the time... More magazine cover types. Trust me though I like all girls and will come up with varying photo's. { ihope ;)}

In fact there's some cultural stuff happening next week here. Lets see what that brings ?

In general (my opinion) straight on photos are usually not flattering.

Is that photo a crop of a much larger photo?

Yes , the link above is about an 85% crop of the original...

Yeah, good point, thats a bit too straight on...
Thks.

Correction:
The original is 1.64MB so the attached here is much less than 85%... I forgot I resized it, also...

"Ok, so she may not be the prettiest of them all but this isn't about being pretty."

Hmm. I'm not sure quite yet what I would think if someone were to base your photo on what she looks like beauty-wise. These photos wouldn't mean as much if they were to turn into a "am I hot or not?" (as in the website) sort of judging. Although I'm not naive and know that "pretty" is a big deal for several reasons..it just never occurred to me that this particular female was any less or better looking than any of the others you've posted. With some it would, but I'm not sure if you mentioned it because of feeling it would be good to ward off ahead of time those who would make it about that?

Now that I'm just oldddd..I adore character, personality and essence that can be caught. Not barbie dolls who are somewhat 2-D. Even though the others were sharper images, I like what YOU caught character-wise here, more than in the other photos. :0)

Keep 'em coming. :0)

I didn't mean to be evaluative , in fact the opposite, but the way I said it makes it evaluative...

My posts used to be more sexually oriented, I've tried {or trying} to eliminate that so now I'm doing just faces... {ie: we're making progress...}

I don't consider this photo as a barbie doll, but more of a classic beauty, who normally don't hang out on street corners...

I also checked out one guy's site who just had "regular" type street photo's and some anonymous LJ'er called his photo's "bland".

Guess I have to find the right mix of incredients here.

Nah..I didn't mean you. :0)

I meant others being evaluative. Which is why I was wondering if that's why you mentioned it. Thinking that perhaps you had seen others putting great importance on the beauty the "object" in a photo, and focusing only on that. It's something I have been mulling over recently - something I've seen a lot of and disappointed in.

I don't see the photo you linked to as barbie doll either. Just made that statement in general. In actuality, I was thinking of when I flip around channels here in the U.S. and run past the reality shows like "The Bachelor" and "The Swan" (not sure if you get them there). The magazine photos here are the same, too. The women all have the same look. People looking and watching seem to be falling for it. :P

Anyway..my first post was about people in general - not you. I promise. :0)

"beauty of the object" - is what I meant to say.

She is plenty pretty. There is something to be said about someone who smiles at a stranger. Her face provokes wonder. I'll bet one could tell himself stories all day about such a face. She could be flight attendant, she could be a biologist, she could be a Spanish tourist. Or none of these things. But, at least with a smile, one is allowed to wonder.
