OK, we're less than 2 weeks into spring (yes, less than two weeks, anybody wants to argue?) and it's 33 degrees at 4 in the afternoon. It's stinking fucking hot for this time of year

OK, Spring starts on the spring equinox when the sun is in line with the equator and therefore we get 12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of darkness. This year the solstice occurred on the 21st of September and thus we are but 2 weeks into spring. Summer starts on the summer solstice which is around the 21st of December, Autumn starts on the autumn equinox which is around the 22nd of March and winter begins on the winter solstice which is around the 21st of June.
No season truly starts on the 1st of any month, this is just something the media sprouts out but the seasons begin and end with the movement of the Earth and sun from equinox to solstice and back again.
