Sadly I doubt that. Mostly because Police forces are staffed by humans, and humans are generally speaking rotten pieces of shit who would as soon spit on you as look at you. On top of that there is not a very rigorous vetting process. It's more complicated to become a union carpenter than it is to become a police officer.
I'm sorry but I want my Police to be Paladins and I expect them to be judged thusly. Also like a Paladin if they see another fall into corruption they don't cover it up, they execute them with their own hand.
One could say that it is more complex to become a mime then a police officer, but what would one learn from that statment?

I am profoundly happy that the majority of people I have run across in my life are not "Rotten pieces of shit who would as soon spit on you as look at you." I am also glad that when I meet a new person I don't assume this about them. (reguardless of their occupation)
What I mean is there seems to be a much more involved process. Years working under another who is qualified. Then working with different lead carpenters. Before entering a probationary period, then becoming a full carpenter. By the time you are on you own making decisions you have already been in the field seeing how others handle these situations, and later making similar situations in an observed role. I'd like for it to be just as long and complicated if not more so to get into the Police Union. Obviously I know more about the carpenters union than I do about Police hiring procedures. But I've never gotten the impression that a police officer goes thru several years of training specific to their discipline before they even get to put on a trainee uniform.
