To comes to grips with yourself is a challenge, if nothing else. To accept yourself completely, without regard to reason, logic, or fundamental beliefs that you're wrong, an almost intellectual impossibility. Yet, isn't that what we ask ourselves to do, time and time again ( Read more... )

I'm glad you've made a decision about who you are going to be in life. It seems that if everyone could make that kind of decision then the world would be a much better place.

I too started reading again, but at the time it was only a way to pass the time at work. But it got to a point where I would rather read than watch television, and my roommate was shocked.

Anyway you have some good stuff man, so keep on writing it.

Damn, dude, could you try to sound just a little more stuck-up? OMGOMGOMG what is the world coming to, kids these days! First, people are "sheep" for going to see an Angelina Jolie movie... then people are retards for not going to see "Sky Captain?!?" WTF. The reason you see more sex and violence more in movies now is that it was socially unacceptable for previous generations. Oh yeah, and the rest of us don't actually want relationships, jobs, and not living with the parents anymore, it's just the big push to conform. If only the rest of us could be as enlightened and free-thinking as you.

I know you're not actually this much of a prick, but it comes off that way. Anyways, I hope you're feeling better.

Yeah, it's true, I am pretty damn enlightened. Though, I have the medication to thank for that. All I'm saying is that people need to worry about themselves first. Anymore, it's all about everybody else, and what they think. And that, frankly, is wrong. At the end of the day, you're only responsible to yourself. But it doesn't seem to matter, as so many people both you and I know only worry about appearances.

Doesn't seem fair, but it's true. You and I, we're of a different breed. But for those others...well...majority rules the country, right?

Scary future.

Sometime it takes someone to figure out what they really want out of life and not have to conform to what society says as "normal" or "hip" so to speak. It takes many differnt ways for some people to be enlightened wether it is to read a lot of books because friends are growing up and moving on with there lives and it's hard to keep in touch. OR it's because some people make some decisions in there life and try not to worry what's going on back home and missing out on a lot of things. In a way, they're kind of glad that they got to have this opprotunity to get this second chance ( ... )

While I believe you contradict yourself - you never quite stated the logical conclusion to this article: Which dream will you choose to follow? Personally, I have made the decision to never be content with what I have and what I am. I want to be the very best I can possibly be - may that require travels, education, or more invasive measures be taken.

As for movies, we only watch the old movies that are good these days. Just like music, the bad is lost to history while the good becomes a staple of "the good old days". The days were never that good - people just choose to remember the good times and ignore the bad times.
