It was only recently that I listened to songs and critically thought about what they mean to me, the intended meaning, and what they say about the person who wrote them. I never really lent my ears to The Books. Now I think, "wow I'm glad that someone wrote a song about this, in this particular manner."

but some music does suck.

all music sucks! music is for pussies!

i think you can hear the difference in a song that's made for love and a song that's made for money.the ladder are all the songs that play at my work.
the songs that are made for love, ARE good songs. it's good music to someone. and maybe that's all that matters. that it reaches somebody, and it's good to somebody.i dont know really.what i like may not be some of that music. but i may never know like you said. but i know what you mean about maturing. its like watching a disney movie when you're much older. you notice and understand so much more about the movie and the underlying tones in it , its crrrrazy!

I don't see how I couldn't agree with you. Sitting and listening to a song without doing anything else is a really different experience.

Another thing I thought should be added to the theme of the entry:

the system you listen to your music through is really important. I think recently since i've been hearing all these songs ive heard a thousand times through systems like jordans / teds It's surprising to me how much is really in a song that you CANT hear because the system u might be listening on isnt high end or whatever. There are bass lines in pendulum's hold your colour that I have never heard until recently.

Most of this is electronic, but what isn't in 2008:

---In search of Sunrise 2 / any other CD in this series

---Trilogy by Christopher Lawrence

---Mediterranean Fresh Cuts Compiled by Dj Chus

---Cafe Del Mar Volume 13

Different styles, chillout / ambient to CL's older stuff. I'll make you a CD or somethin for next time I see you.

Dunno what your up to today, but make sure you take it easy. Don't cramp anything.
