Wow. That was very intense. A part of me agrees with you, especially the super-hero power. That is a fantastic idea. On the God front, He doesn't accept or love those people, until they realize how horribly wrong they are and ask for forgiveness - GENUINE forgiveness. Only then will they be welcomed into the "fold", for lack of a better term. God is funny like that, He gave us "free will" to see what we'd do with it. The irony with religion is that not many people see that both good and evil originate with us humans, not God or the devil (whom I don't believe in anyway). I don't know who came up with the idea that one race was better than another, but those with intelligence know that this is not the case. People should be individually judged based upon their actions, not what color/religion/culture they represent. Racists are just very sadly misguided. Racists of EVERY color.

It's funny, just this morning walking to work I thought of the phrase on a t-shirt "I'm judging you... on an individual basis", as a followup to the idea that no culture or race could ever be judged as a whole.

It's sad when I hear from my german friends, for instance, that Nazis still exist in their culture. Like, profoundly, heartbreakingly sad.

The whole organization of religion should be seriously examined as well. So much of it is perverted from the original intent. A belief in everything the Bible says, from a fundamentalists standpoint, yes, should be the first thing to go. That said, I know God-fearing, church-going individuals that I cherish and love. Judging the individual and all :)

Why does all this stuff seem like common sense that -anyone- could understand, and yet doesn't seem to be able to catch hold?! As someone who tries to be an optimist at least half the time I have a hard time keeping faith in humanity...
