I'm afraid of a lot of things. I'm afraid I'll get mugged in the alleyway behind my apartment. I'm afraid that I'll fail miserably with my student teaching. I'm afraid that I'm going to disappoint those I love and let them down. I'm afraid that I'll never be married and become a spinster with 10 cats. I guess what I'm saying is that I'm afraid of a lot of things. But I know that God has a plan and that even though I may not be able to see it some days, He's there. I just have to get outside of myself and my selfish fears and reach out and grab ahold of the blessings and gifts that He has for me today, regardless of my fears of failure and loneliness. I figure He's God and He knows what's up. He's taken care of me this far, why wouldn't He take care of me right now and in the future? God is the same yesterday, today, and forever which means that His ability to provide for us never changes either. And in that, I can rest assured in spite of my foolish humanness.
