Well, exams are done! That was more than a week ago and now I am back from Chapter Focus Week with IVCF up in the UP. I miss that place. what do you mean courting? you mean dating? let's get with the century robbie ;-)

LOL - your great Margo! Yes, I do mean dating however it is a certain style of dating and that is why I say courting because it is different than what most people think of as dating. I am in the century by the ;-) because its different than the 19th century style of courting, which was not very ethical if I remember correctly

So for me I prayed and fasted a month before I even talked to the lady about courtship. And during that fast I told my parents about who I was interested in because I realized that I would like my family and the community to be involved in my relationship with someone because rather you like it or not your relationship with someone affects not only you but your family and your community. My family was really happy in being allowed to know what is going on in that area of my life. I also had accountability partners to pray with, to ask me questions, and to talk to know if I am ready. I also talked to her pastor because I wanted to let him know that I was going to talk to a member of his congregation (she admired that I did that - I tell you it was kind of scary to talk to a pastor about that). And so finally after a month of prayer and fasting I approached her by taking her to dinner and talking about courtship.
