Last night I remembered what it was all for. The whole life thing I mean. I had lost the feeling in about ten minutes, but still I had it. I guess it is about learning to hold it for longer. Christopher Nolan's brother wrote the short story that inspired Memento. One of the things he talks about in the story is how over the course of the day we're so many different people. The beautiful thing about this is that for a few moments of every day we're geniuses, artists, absolutely brilliant, and we see so much. The horrible thing is that we have to pass the baton to the ass-scratcher at some point, and then all we're left with is residue and fleeting memories.
