Sure, I remember. I think the rainbow symbol was seized and codfied to represent the gay community when they were trying to empower themselves as a group after the peak of the AIDS crisis. Frankly, they can have it - I was never very big on rainbows anyway. Reminded me of Lucky Charms.

Yeah but it reminds me of the marshmallow part of lucky charms, which was the good part you let soak a little in the milk and avoid the rest of it.

I thought the significance of the rainbow was that the variety of hues was symbolic of tolerance of diversity.
