Seema and I didn't actually do anything for Worship a Zombie day, mostly because she was never raised in the religion, and I gave up ages ago. On the other hand, we did skip going to party with the Indian people for another spring holiday[0], but decided we had too many errands to run.
Then, we realized that the throngs of people who would celebrate nailing their deities to a stick and his subsequent zombification. . . well, those people closed the stores yesterday. Had we remembered sooner. . . we'd have made it. Gah!
On a note more related to your post. . . now I'm craving ham and potato salad. Sonofabitch!

[0] Holi -- you basically throw colored powder and water balloons at each other to celebrate spring. It's like paintball without the hurting part or the expensive equipment.
Bill and my mom don't really celebrate it either...it's just an excuse to get the family members that actually like each other (i.e. it was a pretty small gathering) together to eat, lol.
I'll let you know if we actually go to Holi next year.
In addition to the hijinks, there's also generally food at the joint, a slew of HOT Indian girls, and generally Indian food afterwards and some nearby spot. It doesn't normally coincide with Easter, which is a plus.
Just thinking about it makes me realize how much I missed it this year.
