i'm tired of focusing on myself.

there is a time for introspection, and that was a year ago. evaluating one's values should be as painstaking as it needs to be, but it's only a means to an end. what good are values without externalized passion?

the sea is about to swallow whole civilizations; introspection is a dead end.

ain't that the damn truth!

thinking too much about yourself, over-analyzing every move or action, can drive you crazy!

it sounds like you need to do something baaaaad....naughty even?

i don't really mean to say "you shouldn't think too much." at some point i think everybody needs to decide who they want to be, but saying who you want to be and being that person are two very different things. i understand that introspection and our age virtually go hand in hand, but you read the headlines every morning and see so many lives being thrown away for the sake of wealth - and that in the face of an impending environmental holocaust - and all of a sudden trying to 'figure yourself out' seems not just selfish, but sinister. it's not about needing to do anything for myself, it's about being time for everybody to set aside the personal journey through life and make the world a better place for everyone.

And the cynic in me has to come out and just call bullshit. I don't believe human beings have it in them to come together as a whole and make the world a better place. Maybe it's my outlook at the present time, but people are always gonna look for their own bottom line. Until people go through some serious introspection and find out that there's more in this world than just themselves, their pocketbook, and what's in it for them, nothing will change. Pessimists unite!

don't worry about what you think everyone else is going to do. there's nothing stopping you from making a difference.
