Last night, for the second time in my life, God spoke to me.

Oh, I knew I couldn't get away something so brief and tantalizing. Unfortunately for all you curious souls, the contents of the message must remain between the Big Guy and me, at least for now. It wasn't anything particularly grandiose; I won't be leaving to do greatness in the name of God or anyone else any time soon (or probably ever). More guidance than prophecy. And I'm sorry enthiomaniac, but I am not even ready to discuss the first time. Maybe in 40-70 years...

Well if polite asking does not work, I guess we're on to harassing phone calls.

Was this an auditory or visual encounter?

It wasn't so much a "speaking with" as it was a "being spoken to". Regarding the name and avatar, they're not coincidence. Hank, Howard, Equality, et. al. have been and continue to be an important influence in my thinking. However, as much as she'd like to claim it, I don't believe that Ms. Rand had any exclusive line on the truth. I maintain that it lies somewhere in between her and so many others. She'd label me a heretic for conversing with the almighty, I know, but somehow these two are able to co-exist (usually peacefully) in my mind.

I've heard of the Brown book, and of course I know of him from the 2000 election (1996 too?) and the LP in general. I've actually never heard of the others, but I'll try to check them out as my reading time permits. My own interests lie more with the economic side of things. Smith, von Mises, and Riesman are my constant recommendations.
