Has anyone read "Cold Days'?
WHERE is the squeeful fannishness? The latest Dresden Files book came out last week, and I can't find any Cold Days reaction posts... Am I looking in all the wrong places? (And if you say Tumblr, please please also say there are other places to find it.)
At the end of chapter 7, when Mab instructs Harry to kill Maeve, I told myself: Sarissa is going to be the new Winter Lady! And Mab isn't crazy, Maeve is! And this book is a mirror to Summer Knight and HOMFG!
(Also, all the fanfic that put Santa in the Winter Court: YOU ARE VINDICATED.)
In chapter 16, I dictated the following to my phone: Demonreach is horrifying. I have no idea where this is going, but the Well sounds super promising and also I bet this will have something to do with Butcher's planned apocalypse conclusion. In addition, the description of the chamber makes me think of the World Tree (Yggdrasil). How much is Donnar Vadderung going to be involved in this book, I wonder? OH WAIT. Demonreach is Azkaban.
My notes for chapter 17 is pretty short: I knew it! Time travel! (My friend and I have a bet going that time travel is going to be a big thing somewhere down the line. Butcher wouldn't harp about how it is BadWrong if it weren't a set up for future badness. My friend disagrees, and says the no time travel rule will not be broken. We shall see!)
What I dictated after chapter 20: I knew Vadderung would be in this somehow, dropping hints. And now we have Outsiders; how amazing this book is way better than Ghost Story.
Note after chapter 25 - what I said in chapter 7 re: Maeve is now completely on its head. Butcher faked me out!

Dictated: Chapter 35 - Mother Summer just made me redact what I said in chapter 25. Looks like Butcher faked me out AGAIN! Maeve is actually really evil maybe? IDEK anymore; everything keeps flipping. I love this book.
Also: RASHID. That is all.
Then I got to the last 100 pages and there was (as always) no time to breathe much less reaction-post. Basically? SUPER MEGA UPHEAVAL AMAZE. (And for what Harry told X to do if Y did something at the end? Biiiiig brass ones.)
I have never wanted to travel into the future more, if only to get a 'complete works of Jim Butcher' box set that has all 25 (or howevermany) novels in the series.
For the cliffhanger-averse: the story is wrapped up. I just want to see the next bits right now, because the next bits will be AWESOME. Is it next year yet?
