Everytime someone asks where our flying cars or personal jetpacks are, I usually say that I'm glad we got the Internet "they" never promised us, instead.

It'll be even more interesting in a few years, as the internet really creeps into everything. I'm not sure I need my appliances to talk to the grocery store for me, but things like the smart electrical grid could make a world of difference.

On a slightly different track, CNN hasn't had a very good track record in the science department for quite some time. I haven't read a science article of their's that didn't have blatant mistakes for I don't know how long. At a guess, they simply haven't wanted to spend the money on someone who is both a writer and knows science. I scan them to see what people might be talking about, but look elsewhere to find out the actual facts behind any real development. CNN and science? Oil and water. Just don't ask them to explain what that analogy means. *grin*

Not an encouraging level of quality, for what's supposed to be one of the country's major news outlets. Though I hear you on that - I usually go to somebody else for anything with real depth.
