Apocalypse Now!

So two pretty weird things happened in the past two days. Yesterday I felt the floor shift under me. An earthquake. I thought I might be imagining things, but then a minute after I felt the floor shift Jason asked if I felt it. It could have been nothing at all, but I don't think the floor shifts the way it did if it was merely vibrated. Definitely ( Read more... )

i was in an earthquake once. it was really small. i felt it, but my grandmother, who was downstairs, didn't feel it. i was just sitting there, reading, and suddenly i was vibrating. i knew what it was instantly, and ran downstairs, turned on the radio, and sure enough- a small earthquake. we get a fair number of those in the bay, but that's the only one i've ever experienced firsthand.

Sac is in a weird spot in relation to the San Andreas fault. Even though we're fairly close to it, we are sheilded from most activity. That's why we feel nothing. And how many earthquakes have you felt?! You make it sound like it's such an insignificant occurrence. So much fun hanging out the other night. I haven't laughed that much in ages.
