This is one of those tunes that's just plain fun. There's plenty going on for the attentive ear, but you don't have to dig in to dig it.

Something that's always grabbed my ear in this song is Neil's ride work. He taps out these great little 1-bar, 8- to 10-note rhythmic patterns that are like little self-standing phrases, all while rocking along as if it's just no big deal. ... probably cuz it isn't. (When jamming in North, hmasing used to occasionally throw ride phrases like these into tunes here and there. We'd call it "Rush-ing", and we'd occasionally end up leaving it in a tune. I believe there's a few spots in "50 Years Drunk At Sea" where you can hear a little of that going on.)
