So I just heard about http://www.nanowrimo.org/ today, and oddly enough I had a story idea already written out.. I'm just not sure if it's really novel material and not...disturbing short film material instead. In my opinion, if we were ever to successfully build an artificial intelligence

It is a mix of an old videogame Darkseed with the twists of Vanilla Sky.
If you like scifi twisty creepy things try Paranoia 1.0 - it's a similar concept overall actually.
