Contentment, Bliss, Serenity

I can't wait for Serenity to come out, September 30th. I already saw it in a nearly-completed form, but I want to see it again anyway. I know you may have heard this before, but if you like Sci-Fi and are tired of the same old "Star Trek" sort where people follow the "formula," then you need to watch Firefly. If you like kickass programming that ( Read more... )

On roommate's phone voices evilsheepy August 14 2005, 02:18:59 UTC
In my experiences, it's true 50% of the time.

Roommate #1 last year sounded like one of those overachieving blondes who, despite being a really nice/smart/whatever person, is so perfect-seeming that she ends up being totally obnoxious. When I actually met her, turns out she was almost as jaded and cynical as Yours Truly and we ended up being great friends.

Roommate #2, on the other hand, sounded shy, judgemental, and conservative. Actually, that wasn't quite my impression of her, but I won't bore you with further details. My point is, I did indeed get an accurate measure of her via our short phone conversations.

So I'm just sayin, don't count your chickens before they're upstream without a paddle. You should try to put aside your phone-impressions and give the guy a chance, he might be really cool.

I understand what you mean about jock voices. I find them to be a huge turn-off. Even smart jocks have jock voices, which is unfortunate because they can be talking about breaking new theories in quantum physics and you're like "Wow... you're an idiot." Even though they're not at all. Yeah you get it ( ... )

What do you mean by "Are you in the same room?" :o
No, he didn't say "What's good, kid" but I can definitely hear him saying some similar type of colloquialism.

Oh, duh. No, I'm not in the same room. I'm in C tower, on the 4th floor, to potentially get away from the freshman coming in on the third floor. I really wanted to go to some other place altogether, but I got there really late and didn't have much time to think of that.

See your forced me into making my own Serenity Icon *Shakes Fist*

I would suggest giving Buffy/Angel a try from the begining. They are very good shows which got even better towards the end. I have the first few seasons of each and could loan them to you =P

Yea the show started as a bit of a teen show, but at the time that was the audience. As the audience matured so did the characters. Even in the early years of the show Whedon did it his way and it was great :)
