It's quiet here now. Liz isn't home from work yet, and I have muted the TV now that the main inauguration coverage has finished. I got back too late to watch the oath or the inauguration speech - some of have to work 9 to 5! - but I managed to get out of work just in time to catch the oath, then the speech on BBC Radio 4 in the car. If the Mall is completely full, it can hold 1.2 million. If you subtract out some space for TV cameras and the like, you can assume that it was a million just on the Mall. Then there were all of the people on the streets along the parade route. So it's at least a million people who were there, and the 2 million number is probably closer to accurate.

I must confess to having a smirk on my face in relation to Cheney too. And also when Obama diplomatically attacked Bush - i wondered how Bush was feeling and then realised that he probably didnt understand what was being said!

We had an Obama evening - i had a study day yesterday so watched it on tv but when Stef came round we curled up on the sofa and watched the lunch, the parade etc and then watched a documnetary i had recorded on Obama's life story.

What an amazing day :)
