Hey LJ,
Life has been very good to me lately. For one reason or another, I had actually been feeling a little down over the past few months, but I think things are okay now. In less than a month I'll be moving into my new apartment right down the road from
fractallia. It will be sort of glorious. I'm leisurely putting things into boxes right now, the balance of which is now occupying a corner of my living room.
I've had a whole lot of fun helping out at the PBF food preparation weekends. I've used a magical device called an extruder to extrude long strands of kafta. It was a whole lot of fun; I wanted to call them extrudels. The teflon lining on my little-ass frying pan has come off, and I got to discover, to my own embarassment, that stainless steel does not fall into the "no stick" category of cookware.
So, it turns out that I will get the keys to my new place PBF weekend. Obviously, I won't have a chance to move until later in the week, and a lack of foresight on my part leaves me with no alternative weekend to drag my furniture over there. It is okay, though. Since I live so close to
fractallia, I'll be able to use her house for staging purposes. It will be kind of cool, but I still need to solve the "my couch is too big to stuff into the back of a Honda Civic" problem that has gradually come to my attention.
Due to very recent developments, I may have new paying software work coming up. It's awesome and scary at the same time. Do I do it concurrently with my current job (I think I can), but also, it's one of the most ambitious projects I will have ever embarked on. Without going into too many technical details, I will have to create an entire infrastructure for a series of devices to use to communicate with each other. This is the sort of thing that can get very slippery very quickly.
Speaking of computer programming, I've been busy lately on my little engineering block game. A screenshot is pictured below.
Who would have thought that when I learned HTML all those years ago it would be so handy. Anyway, ignore the patented Diagnostic Dot (TM) (R) in the upper left corner of the page. That appears so that I can poll the board's state whenever the game is paused. The really nice features that I wanted to show off and brag about are the gravity feature and the cool lightning. The gravity works beautifully. See those two little intertwined pipes? They hold together and they'll stop each other from moving rigidly. Also, gravity works in all four directions. The lightning is a very recent addition. It arcs, it jumps, it is much cooler looking animated.

I've been thinking of animal names. Some of my favorites: Waddlebottom (Penguin), Jacks Ringling (Fox), Romani Curry (Zebra), Tromp Flatsoil (Rhino)
Hot + Naughty = Haughty.
Doesn't it make more sense if highways are actually lower than real roads? After all, when you enter a highway you are supposed to speed up, and when you exit, you're supposed to slow down. Doesn't it make sense to have those roads lower so that you can have gravitational assistance? Think of the fuel savings.
If you have a trans convention and take over an entire hotel is it a good idea to swap the placards on the bathrooms?
I realized that lesbians can't have girl time where they go to the bathroom to talk about their dates. Weird.
Old Spice should have been one of the Spice Girls.
