I just had an accident which, I believe, in this modern age will more than likely happen to at least half the population at some point or another:  I dropped my cell phone in the toilet.

Now before you assume the worst (no doubt you already have) it was an empty toilet.  Because, believe be, if it were anything else I certainly wouldn’t be posting ( Read more... )

Were you thinking you'd have called at the exact moment I dropped it in there and I (in my excitement at receiving a phone call) would have snatched it out and immediately stuck a soaking wet toilet-phone up to my ear? I'm not sure what you mean here.

Actually, someone calling while my phone was submerged is about the most awesome thing I could imagine happening in that situation. I already thought it was pretty cool that I could see it glowing in there.

And I'm going lottsa places...but eventually Philadelphia. So where's this baby you've been cooking?

Obviously, toilet would have picked up and said something rude.

It's still in my tummy, kicking me pretty much all the time. It's a lot bigger now though. I have like six weeks left.

Did you poop on it?

Also, my friend dropped her phone into a cup of vodka. She only realized it when it started vibrating against the glass.

Yep, I've been there. I had my drink spiked one night at a club, stumbled into the bathroom, tried to call a friend but dropped my then brand new Blackberry Bold down a toilet (within a month of owning it). At the time, I was too busy screaming at a bouncer that I had 'gone blind' to really care about my phone, but when my friend came looking for me and saw all the water apparently pour out when the back was opened up, the wept for me.

Still haven't bothered fixing my phone, waiting for my upgrade in April. That'll be an entire 12 months with a Motorola V3 that I am paying £45 a month for.
