When you come home and your fridge is gone is easy to see it's no longer there. Memory is much different. It's as if someone walked in to your home and asked you where your fridge was however you never knew you had one in the first place. While you may remember what a fridge was or even what it was for, the concept that it was in your life is alien

I didn't realize you'd been in a coma. I thought, at times, you were pretending that you forgot.

Wow. I just. Didn't think about that. And in that case, some things are better...left foggy.
