So I just realized that today is the second anniversary of Hunter S. Thompson's suicide. I cant believe that it has actually been that long...I can still remember how hard that news hit. I really cant express how much Thompson's writing means to me or how much he has influenced my desire to write. May he continue to rest in peace

1. I find it interesting that this anniversary happened at this time of the year, because early saturday morning I connected with some of Thompson's writings on a level only possible under the influence of the same substances that helped him come up with them.
2. Last summer, Joey and I were somewhere around Barstow on the edge of the desert when the drugs began to take hold.
