There have been prostestors on Concord Rd. today and yesterday flying an American flag holding up signs "Stop Obamacare." This is, by far, the dumbest thing I have seen lately - short of poor comparisons to U.K. health initiatives. My favourite headline, "If Stephen Hawking were British, he would be dead." The right is panicking because this is the first time a democratic president has had the balls to not pander to them since FDR.

Clinton didn't either, he just faced a Republican congress. I would also argue that there are a few others that didn't either, Kennedy included amongst them.

They're not panicking because Obama has balls, they're panicking because they do not want a socialized system and they're reacting to a lack of information by putting their worst fears on what's going on.

Despite everything, I think the worst part about it is that people are buying into it anyway.

It has only strengthened my faith in humanity's... stupidity. They really think the government will outright kill people with this health care plan? Really? Ugh.

2 weeks for an MRI

3 weeks - 3 months for a specialist doctor

which while it's nice for people who can't afford it... it isn't helpful for those who -could- but now have to wait... and so they resort to coming to America or to the new Private sector Medical system in Canada.

People have to wait for those kinds of things now, even in America. My mom has had to, several times.

Also I never knew we were copying Canada's system from the top down to the bottom.

Additionally, people are going insane and getting incredibly worked up over things they don't understand or have even tried to. "Keep government out of my life" while being on Medicare is hypocritical at best.

"I want my America back."
