With the film version of James Ellroy's novel, "The Black Dahlia" soon to be released, it is necessary to let people know the Elizabeth Short portrayed in the novel and on the screen is not the real Elizabeth Short at all. Here is a website created and maintained by Mary Pacios, who actually knew her, and author of the book, "Childhood Shadows."

Thanks for that. I keep wanting to read more about this case. That is a great site. There is a book out now by a man who thinks his father was the killer.

I know what you are talking about: Black Dahlia Avenger by Steve Hodel.

I should tell you right away you should never pick up that book. The author is completely full of crap.

I did not know who she was until I saw a tv program. I love murder mysteries. That one was really sad, however.
