Sunday night numbered thoughts

Because Sunday night is LJ night, no?  And also because it's much easier to structure a post as a list.

1.  It's still so friggin' warm in Singleton.  Was 32 degrees today.  Is currently 27 degrees inside the house.  In Melbourne there's the occasional day like that at this time of year.  Up here it's basically this hot every single day.  It saps ( Read more... )

:( *HUGS*

I could come up and see you again at some point if you like, but you did say you'd be in Melbourne at Easter, so hopefully I'll see you then. I was going to call you last night actually, but I was at Brad's for longer than I thought I'd be.

Yeah, I'm still not sure what my schedule is for the next little while. If not Easter, then I'll probably be around a bit later.

Yes, I'm aware that it's a little bit odd for someone not to know which state they'll be in this weekend. Welcome to my life :P

Maybe say "my partner" instead of "my boyfriend".

Helps alot. =)

=) That's what I usually end up doing at the moment. It's a good suggestion, and it definitely makes everything that much easier.

That said, people here don't seem to use words like "partner" much, so any attempt on my part at using that kind of language can be a bit conspicuous. The other problem is that while Singleton is too big for everyone to know everyone, it's not nearly big enough that you can have any anonymity. Every time I tell someone that my partner has just started working at the Army base, there's a reasonable chance that the person I'm talking to will also work there. If I mention the job that my partner does at the base, then they'll pretty much know who I'm talking about.

Personally, I'd happily be out to everyone here. Even if they run me out of town with pitchforks and torches, I can just move somewhere else. Unfortunately, Alex doesn't have that option. He's posted here for the next two years, and I don't feel that I have any right to make things difficult for *him*.

I liked that Quni helped me keep up to date on university-level news - campaigns, social events and the like. There were definitely huge problems with the way that some people chose to use the boards, but I don't think that invalidated the site's existence.

Anyway, meh, that's probably an academic question now.
