I can't see your link :(

A topper wig won't cover all your hair. Basically you put it over your already styled hair and it covers the very top of your head. The long hairs sort of integrate with your own so your hair appears thicker.

I just don't know. I've been debating them too since seeing the Imamother thread. I don't believe it is actually virgin hair, but that isn't a big deal for that price. Also I'm pretty sure Remy refers to Indian hair so there is the worry that the hair was used in avodah zara. I think someone on Imamother said that some are marked by a reliable hecsher.

This is what wiki says: "Remy Hair is not always virgin hair, once virgin hair has been colored or chemically processed in any way short of removing the cuticles it is referred to as Remy. Remy Hair can be categorized in the ‘premium’ segment, as far as hair quality is concerned. Remy Hair has its cuticle intact and running in the same direction "unidirectional cuticle" to prevent tangling. The cuticles protect the hair from damage and gives the hair its natural look."

So the link I posted says virgin hair, that is higher quality than remy I guess given this description. I will keep searching tradetang b/c also the wig in that picture looks light, in the description it is decribed as mongolian black.

I have no clue. Either they are the same and the money is just mark up or the hair quality is significantly different. I have a $350 yaffa fall that is a piece of junk now, but I wore it almost every day for my first year of marriage and I'd say it looked very nice for a good nine months. Now it is WAY oxidized, full of split ends, and I wasted money having them add hair where it was way too thin. However I wear it when I exercise and I am going to try and die it myself and get a cheap haircut to make it into a hat fall. So I'd say it was worth the money for someone like me who knew nothing about sheitals and didn't have parents or inlaws to help. I have a $650 sheital from them that I wear most days. The hair also oxidized, but I paid to have it dyed and I think it looks okay. Not fantastic, but I like the way I look in it. I just find I have to restyle it often. So basically my point is most of my experience is with cheap sheitals anyway and they aren't so bad. If this one is even crappier than my Yaffas, you'll still have only ( ... )

The reason I decided to order is that as I was purusing the website a friend dropped over to return something. I had been at her house earlier in the day dropping off a dozen eggs after I took my husband to the bus stop, because there was no food in the house for breakfast. So when I showed her the prices she lifted off her hat and underneath there was a fall in terrible condition. She said she had no money to buy a new one or even have this one washed professionally to try to get the hair untangled. So we agreed I would order one for her, since I have paypal and can set up some kind of escrow with the seller. I am going to order one in her color (dirty blonde) that is advertised as virgin european human hair, which is supposedly undied. How many Indian women have blonde hair? It is just ridiculous that the markup is so high when there are women clearly in need of a modest sheitel just to do this mitzvah.

I really think they are lying about the virgin hair. There is no way for them to offer so many color options at such low prices if the hair is not dyed.

I wonder if they are machine or hand made. In the US our expensive ones are hand made by an expert who really knows the trade and is like an expert craftsman. The less expensive ones are done by machine and some hair is added by hand. I would assume because labor is so cheap in China that these are handmade, though not by an expert.

I definitely think you should check with Yaffa what the deal is. And check if the hair is Indian.

Why take a chance with your $30...and not know the outcome?

If you see on the link the seller is only a member since 2/14/09... the other seller that Rochel posted had very bad feedback.

If you send the $30 to me you would at least know where your money went ;)

lol, no. but when you deal with someone local you at least know what you are getting and you are actually getting it. and usually the sheitel machers take you back for the first time to fix up the sheitel.
