I really would like to include a story set during 5th or 6th century B.C.E. for the Zombies anthology. The base pay for original work is 3 cents a word, but, for something brilliant incorporating Charon's obol, I could go higher. No word limit. Preferably, myth would be more of a backdrop - I don't want a high fantasy tale with Greek trappings but

That is very, very attractive, as a jumping-off point. I just worry about offering something and then not being able to deliver on it.

I'm still pondering an 18th century zombie story. The fact that I'm reading Rousseau and Revolution by Will and Ariel Durant is giving me some ideas. Although I might go with the Tom Jones by Henry Fielding style.

If that zombie story is really good and turns out to be biblical instead of Greek, send it my way (still looking for story 7)
