Now, it might have been the moronic teenagers opening their cellphones every five minutes and driving my peripheral vision crazy, or the fucking asshole girls sitting in the row in front of us coming and going every 15 minutes and talking the whole damn time, but Superman didn't do a whole lot for me

right on, right on. the jesus stuff was just silly to the point of being offensive. i understand singer wanting to build superman into a mythical figure, but he's a super man... it's already there, and if you absolutely must draw parallel's to more widely accepted myths, there's plenty of other source out there than the Bible. yeesh.

also, since when was Superman a metrosexual? bad casting, at least on appearance. the acting was fine, but physically not what i would expect. more than anything, it just kind of flatlines, because, as you said, there's not much super feats, action, or much of a devioius plan to act as a foil. it spins it wheels on the lois lane relationship which is dull from the get go, and then sinks when it gets into literal recreations of the Jesus mythology.

overall, though, i still liked it, if for no other reason than it's a serious treatment of a comic book source, and not something like League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

Now, how about England and Brazil getting knocked out of the World Cup today?!
