House is one of those shows that I've enjoyed for a long time, but haven't really watched in order. Mostly, you don't need to - it's a 'problem of the week' structure, after all, and any arc-plot tends to be fairly minor

Mmm, yes, it is a good episode. On the whole, I preferred the earlier House series - the medicine felt more plausible, and the soap opera less central and less contrived.
I've got the box sets for all but the last series, but I haven't watched it in a while. I'd seen them all when they came out, and when I was out of work I was watching an episode or two every morning. Season 5 (I think it's 5, maybe it's 4) - the one where I nearly stopped watching - made a lot more sense and was less dull/irritating when I was watching one or two a day rather than one a week...
I still need to get round to watching all of Season 8 (I started, but missed a chunk). I have to admit that as someone else said, the earlier episodes are probably the best (although the recruitment process in season 4 was a lot of fun).
Three stories is probably one of the most stand-out episodes in the whole program and I think really helped House retain it's audience over the gap between series.
Three Stories was the first House episode I saw and is probably part of why I became a fan. It's very well done. I think it wasn't until season 3 or so that season 1 came out on Netflix and I went back and actually watched the episodes before that one, which then add a little bit of context.
