In a few short hours I shall be travelling to Swindon, where I will meet, for the first time, boobook's parents.

The "meeting the girlfriend's parents" thing always makes me nervous: I suspect it is because damia1's parents hated me on sight. I, on the other hand, was much more open-minded, and didn't start hating them for monthsSaturday sees

Are you staying over in Hythe?

You can get some really spectacular views of Fawley Refinery at night in that part of the world.

We were not, since all of the hotels in Hythe were fully booked. Instead, we ended up staying in Southampton, on the high street, just over the road from what I suspect was a strip club. The only view we had was of pissed-up chavs: hardly spectacular.

Well, I didn't get carved up and made into Sunday roast. This means they think I'm at least OK.
