When I was changing clothes after work tonight, I noticed an unwelcome resident in my apartment next to the hamper. My first instinct was to smash it in a hurry, but I opted instead to trap it, take a couple pictures, and then toss it outside to roam the free world ( Read more... )

It was bigger than my big toe, but didn't seem particularly ferocious.

Too late for smashing...it was already freed (via dropping it two stories off a balcony onto grass).

Next time you should have an online vote to determine the spider's fate. Kinda like the whole "thumbs up = live, thumbs down = die" scenario from "Gladiator." In case you were wondering, in this analogy you're the evil emperor guy who cheats during the final battle and has the hots for his sister.

I'd consider that option, but seeing as how it usually takes a couple days for people to respond to things I post, that would require me to keep a gigantic spider trapped in a glass on my counter for up to a week, and I don't want that.

Also, I don't have the hots for my sister. Just my girlfriend. And maybe Natalie Portman.
