When not doing work, I...

I don't want to get into a whole big thing, suffice it to say that in order to avoid Starbucks I made the questionable decision to visit a Chicka Latte location, because it is the only other one within six blocks of my place (yes, i am that lazy). Had I only looked this place up first, I might have discovered what this guy discovered, that the idea ( Read more... )

Their coffee supplier supports sustainable agriculture!
Also, I think the cop is the worst of the available outfits.

To elaborate (because I have nothing ever to do): my barista was wearing a bright pink two-piece bikini and what looked like a camouflage apron, a stunning combo, and looked like an all-tanned-out Lindsay Lohan and with such as all of the imaginable ways to pierce your lips to look like Marilyn Monroe and/or Cindy Crawford.

SERIOUSLY?! If I wore that get-up when I was a barista, I would've sustained third-degree burns to my legs multiple times and probably on my stomach too.

That is my thought! I mean, most of my burns were on the arms, but what would have happened to my legs if i hadn't had normal pants?

Exactly.

I wonder if their worker's comp is through the roof or what. I like how their website specifically doesn't mention physical appearance, though it's pretty clear what they want.

kathectic noted in their pdf application form that one of the signing statements is the following:

"I understand that the business of Chickalatte Beautiful Coffee Inc. is built upon the concept that 'Our Image is Our Business' and as such, vivacious, attractive, engaging, sincere and quality women who assume the roles demonstrated by the costumes they wear will make both the sales of our products and your careers successful. Therefore, I agree that if I am selected to play a role for the Company, I will comply with all appearance, image and grooming standards established by the company."

This does seem to go against the non-discriminatory against sex stuff in the earlier part of the application, but how would i know? I'm just a dumb woman.

Next stop: Cock-a-Latte. Also with a generous uniform allowance. My favorite is the one who dresses up as a meter maid (butler?).

First: great title, that is totally what we will call our new business venture. Sex-ondly: one of the costumes could be Cowboy Curtis from Pee-Wee's Playhouse:

As much as I hate to say it.....One of those latte/whore shops would make so much money near the campus here.

As for the burning/scarring issues, I can't really imagine that employee retention is high on their list of priorities.

Probably a good point. Interestingly, this chain is clustered around the Aurora Ave. N prostitute-laden strip mall. Related? I think so.

If only fast food only employed young, nubile young white women with little education instead of the destitute elderly and document-holding immigrants with only a little knowledge of English. They would win back your devotion.
