When I tell people that I had a benign brain tumor in high school, the summer I was 15, they go, "Oh, that sucks." And that's pretty much the end of it. It's fine if I'm not the center of everyone's world. But what hurts sometimes is how inadequate that one-sentence explanation is, how little it conveys of what actually happened. I think the person you are today is an amazing person, and I'm glad to know her. I'm so glad you've come out on the other side of all of that horrible shit, and that you can still be witty and sarcastic and supportive and made of awesome.
