Sooo, it's been a little while, but I had such an awesome weekend, I felt the need for an update!
So Friday, Public Speaking was ok, did an exercise where we had to come up with a two minute speech in five minutes, then present it without using any vocal fillers (umms and uhs). I was nervous about it, but completed it on my second try! Woo :D Chapel was good (not as awesome as Wednesday's though, I think I'm going to make a seperate post for that), it was all about the history of our school because a group was coming to visit (I forget the name) but it's made up of older older alums, ones that were around at the beginning of the school, it was neat. The day was chill, Sarah R left to go home, and at night we went out to Palazzios! First it was going to be just a small group of girls, then some boys got invited, and all in all it became a group of 11, 5 boys and 6 girls, I declared myself the chaperone, since everyone else was single, haha. We got dressed up, which is fun, and the dinner was delish, can you say unlimited garlic rolls? Afterwards we got back to the dorm and walked around talking to people, that was fun. A wicked jam fest broke out with Hans and John on guitar, Julia on viola, Tyler on obloe (I think....) and Megan on flute, it was impressive. I went to bed semi early (before one) and slept in to Saturday.
Saturday I woke up took a shower, went to lunch (I rarely eat breakfast on Saturday mornings). On the way there I found out one of my friends, who isn't 18 until tomorrow, got engaged this weekend!!! Ok, interjection here, I was in such shock! I am really happy for her, but imagining that for myself is crazy, I still consider myself a kid..more mature in some ways, but still so young in a lot of ways, I could NOT be married, or engaged, I would feel like I was playing dress up. It's kind old timey too, because her boyfriend, or fiance is a marine stationed in North Carolina currently, and it seems like young marriage boy goes to war kind of story that would end up in a country song. I am really happy for them though, and hope it works out, it's really sweet because he asked her parent's permission first (FYI, my parents would NOT have said yes). Anywho, didn't do much on Saturday until nightime when Lorin (my small group leader for Bible Study) picked Heather and me up to spend the night at her house, wooo!! First we went to this AMAZING burrito place in I.V. called Free Birds. The food was awesome, AND we saw Johnny Tsunami there!! Not the movie, the guy!! I was seriously star struck, not even like he's a "star" but I loved that movie and I've never seen a famous person just on the streets like that... I stared at him the whole time I was eating, and he kept looking at me, most likely thinking "Why is that weird girl staring at me?" haha. Heather and I thought it was awesome, Lorin just laughed at us and scoffed, she had never seen the movie, but knew it couldn't do her Hawaii (she's from there) justice. I found out today that Johnny (Branden Baker) is actually my RA's cousin's cousin, small world, haha. Sooo after that we went to her apartment, watched Ricky Bobby (BABY JESUS!) and made Pazookies, we had some fatty cookies too..sooo good. We stayed up talking and finally went to bed.
Sunday we woke up pretty early to go to Reality's 8:30 service. It's my second time being there and I like it pretty well, but I think I like the Free Methodist church better. After we went to IHOP and I got a delicious strawberry crepe with hashbrowns and eggs, yum! Afterwards they dropped me off at the zoo for Page's Boo at the Zoo volunteer event! It was pretty fun, we paper mached mushrooms, afterwards we walked around the zoo and saw the giraff with the crooked neck (it's seriously way crooked!!!) and watched a "meet the animals" show where they bring out animals and explain it to us. They brought out a possum, but it was actually cute, Zach asked if they would scare it so it could play dead...haha.
Afterwards came back to the dorm MySpaced and Facebooked because I hadn't in forever (ha) had dinner with of course, Sunday Sundaes! And now I'm here, and about to study for a test tomorrow, yuck. All in all, a great weekend. I can summarize it by saying I went to IV was out all night, and got totally plastered on Sunday, haha.
